BLI LDD 6000 Laser Driver

The driver is a linear current regulated power source intended for feeding one or several in
series laser diodes. Although it is primarily a CW current source, it also operates in
quasi-pulse mode. In this mode the pulses are created by changing the current by software
command. The transition time is 2 ms.

The variable compliance voltage minimizes heat generation
and maintains high wall plug efficiency.

Soft start, current limit, temperature protection, and disconnect
protection are among the features of the unit.

For driving the BLI LDD 6000 an external 30 VDC and 6 ADC
power supply is required.

Name Value Comments
External Power Supply
Voltage 4 ÷ 20VDC Initial voltage setting of the power source for driving multiple diodes in series is

VPS = VD x N + 1

Where: VD is a typical voltage drop across the laser diode at maximum current;

N is the number of diodes connected in series.

The final voltage adjustment has to provide compliance voltage within 1 to 2 VDC at max. current.

Maximum Output current > 6 ADC
