FL (Fast Latch) Fiber Coupled Laser

In fiber coupled lasers the fiber is usually attached in a fixed manner to the semiconductor laser. In some
applications, in the medical field for instance, there is a need to change the fiber rather frequently.
Some devices need a different fiber for each patient.

Boston Laser offers all its fiber coupled lasers in an optional Fast Latch package. This package allows
the user to change the fiber without need for any alignment. Moreover, the customer can attach fibers
with different diameters to the same box. The off-the-shelf devices are using fibers with an SMA connector,
however it is possible to use different connectors also.

The Fast Latch fiber coupled lasers also provide an advantage in assembly where the next hierarchy system uses multiple lasers.
